- Joshua Brooks, Barnham CEVC Primary School
Joshua contracted varicella zooster encephalitis when he was just 2-years-old, and was left with a brain injury. He works hard with his speech therapy, reading and writing, and has improved hugely in the last few months. Joshua is a happy boy who lets very little faze him and is caring, loving and affectionate. Joshua has made amazing progress in the past four years and deserves recognition for his strength and resilience.
- Haylen Erskine, Laureate Community Primary School
Haylen was nominated by his mother for the responsibilities he takes on as a child carer. Aged just 10, he has had to grow up quicker than his peers to help look after his mother and his younger siblings. He never moans about the extra work he has to do, and balances this with achieving at school and competing in just about every sport the school offers. He always goes the extra mile in everything he does.
