WINNER: Colton Kidd-Stanton, Piper’s Vale Community Primary School
Colton has overcome huge obstacles in his young lifetime. The staff who work with him have been amazed at his progress since he started nursery. From being unable to speak, he can now communicate with them and say their names. They are particularly proud of Colton’s progress in singing and he is now able to sing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ and other nursery rhymes.

Morgan was nominated for his sheer determination in the face of adversity. He is described as an amazing little boy who fights and fights for everything he wants. Despite the challenges he has faced, he can always be found with a smile on his face and a kind word for someone else. He is an inspiration and the happiest, cheekiest and most smiley and caring boy you will meet.

Charlie was nominated for how well he has overcome difficulties and problems, and his nursery class teachers say that he has made amazing progress. He has especially excelled in numeracy and his teachers have worked to encourage his interests in this area of the curriculum. His teachers are delighted with how well he has improved and his ability to move forward with his learning.
