Derek Johnson – West Suffolk College

Derek manages the Art and Design portfolio of courses at West Suffolk College, with more than 400 students studying art and design courses. All teaching and learning observed within Derek’s department is good or better, and more than half of it is consistently reviewed as outstanding. Derek shows creativity and innovation and is focussed upon the achievement of his students who progress from the college to prestigious higher education institutions or employment in the creative industries.

Kelly Holmes – Oulton Broad Primary School

Since becoming the lead in Maths in September 2013, Kelly has improved outcomes for pupils at Oulton Broad across key stages 1 and 2, showing significant increases in attainment in her first year’s results. Kelly has led the maths provision at Oulton Broad with passion, skill and determination and her innovative approach has shown a positive impact on pupils at the school.

 

Barbara Newberry – Warren School

In everything she does Barbara has the child at the centre and she is constantly tailoring the curriculum to suit the individual.  Barbara has the right combination of love and care for the children (and their parents!) and the educational knowledge and strength of character to ensure she will get the best out of the children that she works with no matter what their disability is.
