Bows and Arrows Group

Not-for-profit charity Bows and Arrows Group runs four nurseries in Ipswich, with three of these being rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The group pride themselves on their highly qualified staff, who are supported to continue developing and learning. One of their key priorities is engagement with families and they organise a range of events for all the family. They also support other settings, and play a key role in the county’s early years professionals forum, working to improve outcomes for all children in Suffolk.

Shortlisted Finalists

Melton Day Nursery

Melton Day Nursery was judged Outstanding in every category in its last Ofsted inspection in June 2014. The staff are confident and well-trained, which has a positive impact on the achievements of the children, and gained the nursery a Customer Focus prize at this year’s Suffolk Coastal Business Awards. The management team’s dedication to improve is inspiring. They have worked with leading professionals and schools to improve outcomes for the children and parents overwhelmingly report that they are very happy with the nursery.

Oulton Broad Primary School

New leadership at the school has seen students being stretched and challenged resulting in impressive improvements in attainment.  Outcomes for children at the school are continuing to improve and for 2014 were above the national average. Pupils with special educational needs are well supported, and parents feel that they are listened too. More parents have become involved in the PTA, helping to foster a feeling of community and ownership of the school and creating a great atmosphere at school events.
